Thing You Can Do to Preserve Ocean Habitat!
· Reduce the use of plastic bags!
After you read through this website, you might have known the effects of plastic bags to marine life. For you who haven’t read this website, plastic bags are highly dangerous for marine animals. A lot of people might not realize this, but plastic bags that you use and throw away will SURELY end in the ocean! Marine animals choked on plastics, not only plastic bags. So if you can minimize the use of plastic bags, then you can at least give a little help to save our marine fellas!
· Educate yourself with a little bit of Marine Biology
We understand that not all of you wanted to be a marine biologist. What we mean by this is that you can read something, or at least care a bit about the ocean. If you have just even a little bit understanding about the marine habitat and their conditions now, you might realized that it’s time for you to make a change in your lifestyle, or even do a little act to help preserve the ocean
· Take a good care of the beach
How many people out there love going to the beach for their holiday? Especially in the summer, the beach will become really crowded with tourists. Imagine if all of them litter on the beach, or leave their garbage irresponsibly? Yes it will be an island of garbage, and where will it all ends? The OCEAN! So take a good care of the beaches, whichever beach you came to. Don’t leave your garbage, don’t destroy the environment. Keep the beach clean and save the beach to save the ocean!
· Maintain your SEAFOOD intake!
This will be the hardest of all, maintain your seafood intake. A lot of people around the globe adore Tuna sushi, or shark fin soup. They might be super delicious, but you have to remember! For every single spoon you take, you are pushing them closer to extinction! Eat seafood as much as you want, but be aware of which species is in danger and which species are safe to be eaten continuously! Educate yourself and save the endangered species. If the demand is lower, the production will also get lower. If the production is lower, more species can live and reproduce themselves. Don’t you want our grandkids to be able to see Tunas swimming freely in the ocean in the future??
· Join your local “Save the Ocean” community
There are lots of communities out there, local or even online communities that are specialized on saving the ocean and its wildlife. You can simply give them a little bit donations, it will mean a lot for them. Or you can even help them if they held events or campaigns to preserve the ocean! You don’t have to fully lay your lives on this ocean thing, but at least show a little bit concern for the ocean, our ocean. Share information even just a bit to your friends and families. This might change their point of view of the ocean and this might push them a bit to help preserving the ocean for our better future.
